The Philmac IPS-ID (SIDR) Compression Coupling provides a secure and dependable way to connect two sections of IPS-ID polyethylene water pipe. Designed for Iron Pipe Size Inside Diameter (IPS-ID) polyethylene pipe manufactured to ASTM D2239, this compression fitting is ideal for joining HDPE water lines in agricultural, livestock watering, and farm water distribution systems.
Featuring a straight-through compression connection, this coupling allows two sections of compatible polyethylene pipe to be joined without requiring specialized heat fusion or welding equipment.
Ideal for livestock watering systems, rotational and regenerative grazing operations, agricultural irrigation, and farm water distribution, Philmac IPS-ID compression couplings provide a practical solution for installing new water lines, extending existing piping systems, and connecting sections of polyethylene pipe.
Whether you're installing a new livestock watering system, extending water service to additional paddocks, or modifying an existing HDPE water line, this compression coupling provides a convenient connection between two sections of compatible IPS-ID polyethylene pipe.

What Is an IPS-ID (SIDR) Compression Coupling Used For?
A compression coupling connects two sections of polyethylene water pipe in a straight line, creating a continuous water supply connection.
For example, a livestock watering system may require an HDPE water line to extend from a main water source to additional paddocks. A Philmac IPS-ID (SIDR) Compression Coupling allows two compatible pipe sections to be joined, making it easier to extend the water distribution system.
These couplings are also useful when modifying existing agricultural water lines or connecting additional lengths of polyethylene pipe during new installations.
Unlike threaded fittings, compression couplings connect directly to compatible polyethylene pipe without requiring threaded adapters.
Important: A standard compression coupling is generally intended for joining pipe sections during installation. For certain repairs where existing pipe movement is limited, a repair coupling without an internal pipe stop may be more suitable.
Important Compatibility Information
This compression coupling is designed for IPS-ID (SIDR) polyethylene pipe manufactured to ASTM D2239.
ASTM D2239 polyethylene pipe is sized according to its nominal inside diameter and Standard Dimension Ratio (SIDR).
IPS-ID pipe may have different outside diameters depending on its SIDR classification.
Always verify your pipe's sizing standard, SIDR classification, and outside diameter before purchasing compression fittings.
IPS-ID (ASTM D2239) fittings are not automatically interchangeable with IPS-OD (ASTM D3035) or CTS-OD (ASTM D2737) compression fittings.
For proper installation, ensure pipe ends are cut square, properly prepared, and inserted to the manufacturer's recommended depth. Follow Philmac's installation instructions for tightening and pressure testing.
